nearlee's d3

Post by nearlee » Sat Jul 20, 2013 10:02 pm

well it's about time i started my own thread on the D3, upto date i've never been without a landy since passing my test.

however the discovery relationship started a bit later with a 300 es V8, should have known better than to buy another pants rover V8, this led me to a 2000 td5 followed by
a G4 discovery LE in tangiers, owned this for a while in the mean time i picked up a 200 disco which is now my pay n play day toy, then i had the offer of the D3... well i knew the previous owner and the indy who had looked after it, so thought what the heck nothing to loose, and have been a happy chappy since, so this is what i bought in march this year

a 54 plater tdv6 S model, although it does have the screens in the head rests for the kids :thumbright:

as i bought it, well almost the side steps didn't even survive long enough for a photo

then added some light guards and seat cover's

so this left me with a little problem, i tow a box trailer nearly everyday and it was still tango colour with the panels starting to rot

Image

Image

so time for the A team to step in and right it

morning of day 1
Image

panel painting
Image

and :surprise: :surprise: oooohhhh :poo: what have i done

Image

anyhow it all come good

Image

Image

so back on track to the disco, managed to get a set of 940 rated hse wheels in black off ebay, then shad them with some sexy rubber and ta daaaa

Image

painted calipers at same time

Image

now my latest addition, been on a week and really please, no wind noise until you hit the exciting side of 70  , and had actually improved mpg while towing :?

now ownership hasn't been trouble free, but they where the issue's i knew about when i bought it, belts needed doing, had an oil leak, blanked the egr's and a compressor.

however i have an awsome local indy, who take's care of her, and i also go off roading with aswell

Lee if you're in Guildford on the 1st Thursday of the month you'll be pretty close to the Southern area meet if you fancy joining us for some good food and banter.
