Go for it. I need to learn how to do mine in all honesty. Can you adjust the EPB without taking the whole brake thing apart?. Isnt there a small wheel to turn to adjust?

Once I've written it etc, I'll put a new post on & I guess it can be made sticky etc.
Any view on getting a section called 'The Manual' or somethign similar to put all the maintenance & mechanical bits in?

I think I can manage a wheel off (I have my new cheapo air jack now) but worried about where this little cog/wheel is and which way it needs to be turned.

Assume if you get a squeeker on you cna just slacken the unit?

It's the opposite actually, you need to tighten it up.....

No Pads for the park brake, good old fashioned brake shoes!

So the little cog needs to be tightened, ala wound in to release the rubbing?.

Can you post a Youtube clip to show this, or some photo's?

Not sure about a video, but pics, no problem.

The squealer has nothing to do directly with the shoes, it's the clutch mechanism in the EPB actuator that squeals when the shoes are too far out of adjustment. So it's a consequence of the lack of adjustment, not the actual shoes making the squeal.

Of course if you leave it squealing for too long, then it gets really fecked and you have to replace the actuator which is a MUCH more complex job.
