Thought I'd try and keep some of the Salisbury mud away from my door seals, and finally found a seal that might just do the job.
When you fit sliders, you get left with a substantial gap between the bottom of the doors and the sliders, so I've been searching for a decent 25mm flexible seal for some time.
It's standard generic seal for mounting on a steel edge, but there's no edge to press fit it into, so I've used 3m double sided tape instead.
Seal with tape fitted:
Seal fitted and keeping road grime away:
So far so good after a couple of days and also found they keep the water from deep flooded roads away from the door seals too
I don't think it's perfect as mounting to the slider mount means it is likely to get trodden on, but we'll see!
Parts:
Universal Jumbo Car Rubber EDGE TRIM SEAL from Monkeydub
3M™ 20mm/3m Auto Car Acrylic Foam Double Sided Attachment Adhesive Tape
Edit: Added parts and reordered tapatalks photo placement.

Re: Slider Seals mini project
I presume there is a reason you can't stick it to the door instead to stop it getting damaged by people getting in and out ?
I only ask in that I put a seal on SWMBO#s dog van and she managed to wear it out in 3 months. But then again with her wellies on she managed to wear the paint away as well !!!

Re: Slider Seals mini project
Ian, links now updated in the first post
Andy, the only reason I chose where I did is because I couldn't find an ideal spot on the door that didn't clash with the slider mounting bolts. I guess different sliders will provide different mount options; there's plenty of room on the metal part of the door skin (I'd avoid mounting to the plastic lower part of the door as that pops off too easily) but for me it'd have either covered the door drain holes or would have sealed against the bolts, i..e. not sealed. If it gets destroyed too easily I'll definitely go back and door mount it perhaps by drilling holes in the seal and adding straws to allow the door to drain. The current position just seals on the bottom part of the metal under the drain holes without blocking them, which would have been a tough place to stick the strip to on the door side.
