Re: iPad Installation "How To"
Hi, thanks, I've fitted a cigar adapter behind the dash which charges both the ipad and GPS so when you turn the ignition both come on, the audio I've soldered onto the back of the aux input in the centre console and again run behind the dash, to shut down I went into the ipad settings and you can get a little button to come up on the ipad screen which allows you to turn off, it's in accessibility I think. The beauty is that when I get back on my drive it syncs all the music automatically so whatever is downloaded on my phone or computer is in my car. It's not very removable but when off I don't think it is obviously an ipad so hasn't bothered me. With regards to fitting, it's not too bad although you do have to do a bit of cutting, after Xmas ill get some better pics uploaded. From the front I think it looks great but from the back it's a badly made blue Peter style fibre glassed sleeve that the ipad drops into.Dave wrote:Like it Brian, a lot. Welcome too!

Re: iPad Installation "How To"
I've often thought about doing something like that but I was looking at using a PC and touch screen - on the basis that I could write my own software to interface to different things. Lately though I have thought about Raspberry Pi and a little touch screen (like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Low-Price-Lil ... 460a615edc)

Re: iPad Installation "How To"
Hi, I half installed a car PC before the iPad, the Lilliput touch screen fitted very well and I ran all the cables to the boot where I had a 12 volt pc fitted but in the end it was all too complicated for me, using windows 7 I found the screen much to small to see properly and I couldn't get the centrafuse interface to work, I also could never get the power right so I had to manually start up the computer when I got in the car and as I have a very short drive to work it wasn't really worth it in the end.

Re: iPad Installation "How To"
Awesome, all clear Brian thanks I will be doing this when I have chance, I am going to use a lightening to 13 pin adapter with cable to enable me to use my audio connectivity module too based upon what you have said - that will also cover charging. It's just finding room round the vent of course
cheers

Re: iPad Installation "How To"
Hi, sounds like a plan, I had to heat up the connecting tube behind the vents and push them inwards to create enough clearance for the connector,
