OEM Side Tubes

Post by dsd1036 » Sun Oct 09, 2011 6:09 pm

Hi all,

Possibly looking at getting rid of my GNVP Rock slider steps in favour of OEM black side tubes!

Anyone able to tell me, do the OEM tubes fit the same as OEM side steps or are they a different method?

ISTR I threw them out, they were pretty twisted anyway. If I kept them they are under 5 tonnes of :censored: in the store room. :(

Will have a look but SWMBO's pretty sure they got binned. If I do find them will give you a shout. :thumbright:

Had my stainless OEM tubes on the motor for 5 years or so, apart from when I take them off for off-roading. No sign of any rust.

Can't help you with advice on whether the fixings are the same as for side steps but you could look on the section of the Land Rover site that has downloaded instructions available for fitting accessories.

Hi Neil,

no mate not sold and not sure i'm definitely going too, you know i'm not a mud plugger and they've had NO off road use what so ever,i just love the look of em :whistle:

Small problem,my 2.5yr son fell thru em this morning,he's fine but SWMBO not impressed,so to maintain a similar look i thought maybe get black OEM tubes that obviously serve no purpose but look ok! Unless of course you & Gary can come up with something like the OEM tube that doesn't stick out?

let me know
