What does anyone recommend for road tyres
My GG AT tyres are coming to the end of their useful life so looking at what I put on next.
I have a D2 as well which is my main off road vehicle so the D3 is 90-95% on the road so considering road tyres as the next option.
I tow a twin axle caravan and I am on 18” rims.
Any thoughts appreciated.
TIA

Not sure if they are still available but Pirelli ATR’s would be my first choice for a good all rounder.

Re: What does anyone recommend for road tyres
Oponeo have them, just got 5 delivered couple of weeks ago.
And a second set of rims to put them on.
Just not sure if LR's endorsement is a good thing.
But for road tyres ive done 19k on 19" Wranglers and happy as a happy thing with them from the perspective of handling and ride. I put them on at 6mm and presently on 4mm front & 4.5mm rear so another 13k left if I take them to 3mm, so good longevity.

If only I could think of something useful to type here!!

Re: What does anyone recommend for road tyres
Absolute novice at this, but moved here from a Honda CR-V
Had Goodyear Wrangler AT adventure’s on that,
https://www.goodyear.eu/en_gb/consumer/ ... ATADV.html
so after leaving the disco at a Luton meet’n’greet, and being welcomed home with a nail on both front and rear drivers side, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Goodyear had them in a disco 3 size a well!
Great tyre

What size rims do you have Andy? The AT seem to be only available in 19's?
I hope you can get them a lot cheaper than list

Re: What does anyone recommend for road tyres
Mine are 255/55 r19 111h, and I managed to get them for £350 fitted and balanced for the pair.
Was a little surprised as for the CR-v I got them at £78 each fitted and balanced, and that was from the same place; admittedly 205/70r15
According to the Goodyear website you can get 255/55 r18, but I don’t think that’s the right size as according to my manual it should be a 255/60r18
Andy
Edited to change 5 to 6

Re: What does anyone recommend for road tyres
Standard 18 tyres are 255/60-R18 and 235/70-R17 for 17" rims as well as the ones you say for 19"
The weight is the critical thing - 111 for a disco is the minimum load rating - your CRV would have been a lot less than that so cost less to make.
£350 for a pair seems about the normal I think.
