20 inch tyres for road use only
20 inch tyres for road use only
Need to put new tyres on a D4 for road use only. The most off road it goes is a campsite in summer - I've a Defender for the rugged stuff. Looking for recommended tyres - ideally quiet and fuel-efficient. Looking at Avon ZX7s in 255/50/20 but would love some second opinions..!

Fuel efficient and Discoveries are not exactly close bedfellows!
I have no idea on the best tyres TBH - I would go for something not too summer - they tend to be soft and whilst handle well wear out in no time!

Continental or Pirelli. Quiet and comfy. If your budget stretches the Michelins are harder wearing. Avoid Nexen, Nokian or anything "budget". I tried some on a FFRR and they were horrid. All the grip of KY Jelly on glass.
