Ok, so so I can be sure, do I need to bring anything other than me the kids and the car apart from a bit of snap for lunch?

And will there be some space so that I can take the roof box off and safely leave it before fitting it back on Ann's car at the end of the day. :?:

Mark, might be worth bringing some chairs, I have arranged for us to have some space to set up the event shelter etc, you should be ok to leave the roofbox there. Don't forget your recovery gear too.

I presume that someone collected the event gazebo /shelter from Reggie after Swanage as he picked it up from me before hand....

Otherwise no shelter...... but sure we could manage anyway with a tarp and some bungee's and straps. We have before under persistant rain on a Salisbury Plain lunch stop :thumbright:

Was a good day today. Good to meet up with so many members and none members.

Site is not bad. Does need some of the peaks flattening to make it friendlier to us, as the D3's were bottoming out a bit too much - quite a few got stuck on top of some.

Couple of water holes. One was quite narrow but wasnt too bad. The other one was impassable. Though Harvoy tried. And was winched out. Apparently no one had got through before. Not 90's nothing. They think a fully sorted vehicle with front and rear lockers might do it..……

Good thing is that it has a nice camp site next door with a bar and stuff.

And fishing

Big thanks to Darren for sorting out. :thumbright:

Great day, apart from getting stuck on top of a hill and not being able to get over that small 3ft little hump, the tops where a little to pointy if that is the technical word for it. Thanks for Warren getting me off the top of the one i got stuck on. Oh and i managed to rearrange my front passenger side wheel arch. The bank just leap out in front of me  God these cars are well built as i really did thump it hard.

Would make a nice club event and stay over, though a jcb does need to be taken to some of the obstacles to even them out.

great to see everyone.

Thanks to Darren for organising this for us and of course for arranging some lovely weather! I was really surprised at the large turnout from the Club.

Matt seems a decent guy and I'm sure if we arrange a Club exclusive day well in advance he'll get the chance to bring in a digger to flatten off some of the mounds together with some other other changes to make the site a bit more D3 suitable.

I didn't do anything challenging today (apart from using my D1 to tow our Chairman off of a high plateau and then passing my rope to the Chairman to enable him to tow Inuit off of the same high plateau later in the day). However, enjoyed the day poodling around and having a chat.

Hats off to Harv for giving the L shaped pit a go despite all of the odds! :thumbright:
