Motorhome & Caravan show

Post by moose » Thu Oct 17, 2013 10:33 pm

Visited today and had a look around, mostly at the motor homes, there seems this year to be a plethora of electic beds which can be lowered from the roof. I can see those with teenagers having an interesting time with keeping the kids away from playing trap your sister/brother against the van roof.
Personally still undecided, we went to look at the Baileys, they have however stop making the model we like, the new Bailey 625 autograph would suit us. A lot of models now have fixed beds which for various reasons we don' want, the result is the choice seemed limited which sounds mad with halls full of motor homes - Mrs G is a bit fussy
We did find a nice Pilote A class with a drop down bed which swung into the cab area which leaves the main seating area still usable, and only 6.0m long, may have another look at that.
Also a growing number of caravan with slide out sides, Eterniti has a few nice ones, not sure how good they are as a make.

We're going on Saturday. Possibly getting a cover for ours.

We spent most of the day at the show yesterday - spent too much.

Bought the TyrePal system which seems good so far, though got to fit the sensors to the caravan yet.

Also bought a cover for the van - got the bespoke one - quite a good discount. but still not cheap - but should be fairly easy to fit and hopefully will keep the van a bit dryer.

Also bought some Jardin De France or some such loppers and secateurs - the ratchet type - work really well.

Looked at a Lunar 640 4 berth van - and the Robinson special edition version - which ticked lots of boxes - wet heating, fridge freezer, good size bathroom with good storage, 2 fixed singles.

But it was over £21K - and we really don't use ours enough to justify a change - but in a couple of years when they come on the market 2nd hand, it would be worth looking again.

We liked a lunar and an Eldis but thinking that at 10k to change we might just stick with the one we have and tweak it a bit.
Looked at some blow up awnings, quite fancy one since we saw Mr and Mrs C's.
Will get a small one though for the odd weekend when the full sized one is too much
