Land Rover Owner International Show - 10/11th Sep 2011

Post by Bodsy » Tue Jan 18, 2011 5:27 pm

Hi All,

Following last years success at the LROI show at Peterborough, we'll be having another Club Stand.

This is a great weekend for everyone & I promise to do everything I can to make sure we're not next to the fairground this time!

Costs yet to be confirmed, but the aim is to have a large club area for camping and to show the club to the public.

We'll be looking for people to help man the stand, basically to tell visitors about the club & to get them signed up.

Aside from the 'Club' aspect, this is usually just a great weekend. We try to get as many people as we can camping on or near the stand, this will depend on the area allocated to us this year, but previous years has made this possible for most people.

Club vehicles are £25 per car (1 adult and 1 child) for the weekend and includes camping on the stand. (we may have to limit this if too many T/A caravans want to come!). I'll be in a tent and it's the only way to go :-)
Additional adult weekend tickets are available for £18 and child is £9.

There are a LIMITED number of free tickets, which will be allocated to those that sign up to help the most during the weekend. This is not limited to just the stand 'promotion', but we also need to make sure that the stand is set up and packed away at the end of the weekend.

We've been very luck for the last two years as the weather has been pretty kind, but we usually also have a marquee available just in case. you can guarantee, the year we decide not to have a marquee, will be the year we get a washout!

If we can hear each other this year, then we will probably run a film or something similar to keep the kids entertained in the evening.

We will also have a BBQ on the saturday night (there may be a small charge for this) and there is always food and drink available in the showground.

I'll put an initial sign up, to indicate your intention to attend (but without commitment at this stage) for those that just want to take advantage of our Club pricing and for those that also want to help out in the setup or breakdown and promotion of the Club. Those that volunteer for additional duties to get the free tickets, will be granted them on the basis of their commitment!

This is a great weekend, so get it in your diary now! :thumbright:

I'll be there. I won't be able to help much with the setup as we always arrive late on the Friday. I would also like a few hours to look round on one of the days. I would suggest we have a proper rota for manning the stand this year. That way everyone knows what is expected of them when. We need to have a committee discussion to work out the plan for this years show. We need some idea for a display to draw people in.

I'll be there and can help set up on the Friday, but can't really commit to anything else as we are going on holiday for two weeks the following monday and no doubt I'll be "required" at home!

:)

I would like to help where I can, as for demos, what about fitting of underbody protection and rock slider/steps, or settting up a split charge system. Wonder who's car we could use!!!!!

I know you want me to fit them myself, well that would definately draw a crowd to the stand and demonstrate the ease of fitting your products. :rasp:
