"Park Brake Fault" displayed
Anyone had this come up of the dash display "Park Brake Fault" with the Amber warning light?
The EPB seems to be working OK. It even stops the car when driving along!
Another symptom that occurred at the same time was the loss of gear selected display (It's a manual gearbox)
All this happened when SWMBO was returning home yesterday. Got to within a mile of home and these strange things happened!
So before I pull it all apart, anyone had this before please?
What is it likely to be?
Best regards, Dave

Re: "Park Brake Fault" displayed
Could be the EPB Module, I had mine replaced ages ago as the EPB went amber for a few days then red...Luckily I was warrented. EPB module gets slow to release before it fails, like its dragging as you pull off.
Sadly the module is NOT serviceable, although some have opened it. If you were closer I would hook up the Faultmate for you, but alas you're miles away.

IMHO the best option is to dump it and buy a D4

U have a BM?? Good taste man, good taste! Still not used to running a car that doesn't want a monthly visit to the stealer.
PS Someone has to show BM mechanics that life comprises of a wee bit more than routine maintenance. Thanks for volunteering.

Re: "Park Brake Fault" displayed
To try a sensible answer......
Do you have any blown brake bulbs?
Do you have any low battery warnings? Have you left the keys on whilst washing it for any period of time?
you can also try this.
Put the car in Low range
Then drive through the gears all the way up to 6th
Also, before you do that, you can disconnect the battery and connect the Pos & Neg cables together for 20 seconds. Then re-connect.
give that a go anyway.

Re: "Park Brake Fault" displayed
Your gearbox xy sensor needs calibrating. Easy to do yourself. Search on the other side...
