Good morning,
I feel like I have read every single post appearing on Google while searching. I have read the Bodsey's Bible but some other posts and info give different specs. And also have read some stories of bolts shearing.
Does anyone know the correct and most upto date torque settings for the FRONT caliper CARRIER BOLTS on a D3? I did mine to 175Nm and almost certain that there is no way they will go up to 275Nm.
I'm a little worried as I have to use the car for the next few days for the 4 mile round trip to work. Until I can get to doing the rears and hopefully take the fronts off again to put in new slide pins.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
174.9 or 275Nm

Go by Bodsy's bible - if that says 275nm then that's the correct figure - I forget now what I used to do mine to - but it is bloody tight!

Re: 174.9 or 275Nm
When undoing them I used a bottle jack under the rachet and pumped it up against the weight of the car.. but tightening seems a bit risky as torque wrench is not at the best angle with the wheels turned and worried the socket will slip off and round the bolt.
I also sure I read bodsey state somewhere that the specs he wrote were for the D4 and would amend the bible and something about LR changing specs at some point.

D3 is 275nm. Make sure the car is properly supported on axle stands and not just a jack.

Re: 174.9 or 275Nm
Luckily I need to take both sides apart as I need to clean the lower pins on both sides. I was going to order all new ones, for the rear too. But speaking to the a fitter at work he said to clean off the ones I have and replace just the boots. That the job for this weekend, stripe the fronts again and do rear discs, pads and shoes. I understand the rear bolts are 115Nm?
Thanks again for the above suggestions.
