Park brake fault

Hi all, just joined having bought my first disco a few weeks ago (manual D3).

Driving home last night I got a fault message "park brake fault" & the amber brake warning light came on when traveling at around 50mph.

Weirdly the following issues have all cropped up at the same time.
Parking sensors have stopped working.
Mirrors don't dip when selecting reverse, but
Mirrors dip if you roll backwards in neutral.

Any suggestions where to start investigating please?

First thing to do is download Bodsy's brake bible - latest one should be http://tinyurl.com/brakebible?fbclid=Iw ... uw0IbXTCEg with the link to the page on here being viewtopic.php?f=4&t=353

Secondly, service the brakes and specifically the parking brake.

As for the rest, you need the fault codes read. Oh and auto or manual?

Thanks for the heads up. I've come across the brake Bible, downloaded it but still digesting it.

Is there a guide to downloading fault codes here? Had a probe for a while, you could bridge a pair of terminals in the diagnostic socket & attach an led to blink out stored faults.

The other thing I've spotted today is no reverse lights. Wondering if there's a glitch with the switch, as parking sensors work & mirrors dip if I let it roll backwards out if gear, plus not getting reverse gear indication in the dash.

Mine's manual btw

Sounds like the xy sensors has lost its calibration. I can’t remem how it’s done as I’ve not had a manual. But @Bodsy or @benp will know amongst others.

So, just recalibrated the xy sensor, & all faults cleared! :D .

Really simple procedure, select low range then reverse until "R" appears on display then stop. Still in low range, select first & drive until "1" appears on display, change up to second & keep going til "2" is displayed. Keep changing up through all gears in sequence, only shifting when current gear number is displayed. Stop, select high range apply epb & shut down. That's it :) .

Thanks for the directional assistance, saved me hours of pointless muttering under the car.
