So I ran the vehicle reset and things have changed.

I got to the live values screen before starting the car, and could see the reservoir valve flapping, with gallery pressure (slowly) increasing.
Witching 20 seconds of this though, the suspension threw another fault.
This time it was different;

C1131-92 (AF) Air supply - Component failure - performance or incorrect operation
( at 173886 km )
I tried to clear and repeat, and although I can hear the compressor kicking in, it only lasts for a few seconds before cutting out with the above fault again.

Looks like I've no option but to look at swapping back to my old compressor in the rain today unless anyone can think of anything else to try?

Thats a bugger.

One thing that you could try - though it might completely :censored: the compressor, is to bridge the relay with some heavy duty wire - really not recommended if you don't know what you are doing.

I assume the idea being to 'force' the compressor to run?
Is there anything similar that can be don't with the IID, or will that just fall back to any errors that present themselves and kill the relay?

If you do bridge the relay, watch the compressor temperatures on the iid display, if it goes above 85 degrees or so ( my guess as I've never seen mine higher, would welcome suggestions) and let the compressor cool before trying again.
Also, use weak washing up liquid solution and spray all the air connectors where you've been working, including the other end of each compressor pipe you disturbed, and around the valve by the reservoir tank and see if the compressor is working extra hard due to a leak. My reservoir fitting was leaking after I replaced mine, even though I was convinced I had not disturbed it. If it leaks, spray with water and gently twist the pipe to allow the o-ring to re-seal. Do not press the release ring!

Also, you said the compressor you fitted was second hand, did you replace or refresh the desiccant pack? Do you know the history of the compressor and why it was second hand?

Managed to delete the warning - if the pipes wont twist to reseal, don't force it, you'll need to depressurise - safety first!

Cheers for the advice.

Having a further play & test just to try and get a better understanding of what could be the issue.

When the compressor kicks in, gallery pressure raises from high 80's to high 160's, faults, and then returns to high 80's.

I don't see the reservoir valve opening at all during this anymore.

RE compressor history, AFAIK, it's just a 2nd hand but refurbed compressor. In fairness I do think it came with a health warning in that it hadn't been tested.

Ok.

Feeling a little stupid....
I assume AMK firmware could likely cause issues trying to run an hitachi compressor?

For some reason I 'knew' it was an AMK one, but haven't actually checked.
Just removed the 'new' compressor, and it looks identical to my old one :-/

So three compressor changes in two days - is that a record?

Back on my old one, original fault persists but at least it's happy to keep the car off the bump stops.
Think I'll be on the search for a new compressor, but probably not for a couple of weeks as I'm off to France on the 14th June.
Be tight pushed to sort it all before then seeing as I am away camping next weekend!

Shame that one isn't working Dave. was worth a punt though.

Just to confirm though, you did try the refurbed one with the Hitachi software? or had you swapped back to the old compressor before changing the software back to Hitachi?
