Hi Guys
We are off to France week after next, Calais to down to Mont St Michel to Bordeaux and return via Paris.
We'd like to do a day or so on the war beaches / museums / general interest war. Can you recommend anywhere to go, Adam and Harry are now 14 and 9.
Also, any thing else worth a visit while there?
Neil

If you go to the D-Day beaches and area, then Point du Hoc is nice to walk around, there's a great museum in Arromanche and plenty of old gun placements to climb in and over
I would suggest reading up with the boys, about the areas you want to go. Then when you get there, it means so much more.....

Not necessarily for the kids but Rouen is a lovely town - apparently where Joan of Arc was executed, Monet painted the Cathedral more than 30 times and they have one of the oldest clocks in France dating back to 1389 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gros_Horloge.
We did it on the way to the Normandy beaches and it was well worth a day stop
