Yep I can read, but having a day in the Defender yesterday I've gone a bit mutton.

Is it actually that bad Jase? Or does it depend on what tyres you're running? As you can tell, I've never driven a Defender on the road

I changed my tyres from the standard Avon's to Insa Turbo Traction tyres - basically the wheels and tyres were cheaper than just the avons - and they looked 8-)

But, despite all the reports saying they were pretty quiet, they weren't - perhaps they were compared to some real hard core muds, but compared to standard they were bad!

So, in short, the noise is very much tyre dependant - and in my case, whether I had the air conditioning on or off. When on, apart from the risk of fly infiltration, the engine noise came straight through the flap air conditioning port.

Not really, the only NEW fault I found......well actually Elaine found was that no matter how cold the heating is you'll always get heat. Ideal in the winter, but yesterday's trip ensued the AC on.

Mind you, why would I expect anything else when you're virtually straddling the TDCI Puma lump

I want to change the tyres to AT's as they are currently GG Road Tyres, I like something more capable incase, also want some ZU alloys to match the Sankey. However Elaine's logic is why change the Defenders Alloys to match the trailers, would it not be cheaper to change the opposite way  , women's logic aye

No flaps since 2007. No Pumas have them
