I know a lot of kids know a lot of swear words as they read them elsewhere, BUT I don't think that just because there are different standards elsewhere that you should give up.

Not wishing to sound like a old moaner, but that's how standards continue to drop in schools and with kids.

Maybe I am old fashioned.

Andy, yes you're old fashioned. It's because you're old......
I agree though, we should keep standards high :thumbright:
So if everyone just typed the actual word they're thinking, then just let the filter do it's stuff. Would that work? :thumbright:

Well, yes and I have been guilty of doing exactly that on occasion.

Unfortunately, it does the bypass of the word after it processes' the emoticon exchange, so the word comes up rather than the emoticon. One day I'll see if it just a simple case of swopping the order around. But that may be several forum breakages before I get it right

Interestingly and as an aside, if I quote Bens post if comes up with the right emoticon - but if I use Moderator rights and edit it, I see exactly what was written :o
