C'mon Bodsy - I'm taking the pi$$ and you're not rising to the bait... Getting me worried now.

Are you too preoccupied with that wheel sensor problem?

I don't want your reject shocks, thanks. I had received some others previously, but I decided to replace the fronts complete.
I even had a set of new rear shockers ready to go into a set of used rear struts, but again, I've decided to do whole units. I've now sold the rear shocks I had so I have to do whole units :rasp:

As for the bush pressing kit, yes, that looks like the same one, although is about £50 cheaper than I paid over a year ago (and I paid a good price then).
You really need to use just the right size in order to do it properly. Top one can come in and out either direction, bottom bush is single direction as it has a lip on it.
Makes it a much much easier job. As you say, saves you the price of dealer wages. Mind you, the box is chuffing heavy, so as you're really old now, you should get your lad to carry it for you..... ;-)

At that price I'm tempted to get one myself for next time!

Yippee - the Pikey King lives !!!!!!!!!!!

If the shocks are no good for you then the tip it is :thumbright: - I might pull one apart just to see how they hang together out of idle curiosity.

I think I'll get one of those kits and do the top / bottom hub knuckles on both sides - just get it done and tracked once.

Does the box not come on wheels to help old farts like me move it around ???? :o

I think when I did them the other week, I did the top, put the bolt back through to hang the hub off the top arm and then did the bottom - I'm pretty sure you can get both in and out without disturbing too much. I can't remember if I undid the shock mount or not.

Should the club consider getting a press? We are open to ideas

I was thinking that, it'd be an excellent idea.

A kit would be a nice idea but given the weight moving it around members would depend on the courier network.

Do we have a 'tool' secretary to organise and run a selection of kit to hire / borrow etc?

We used to have one in the BMW M/C club - kept on top of things.

Not at the moment as we don't have a tool bank but it is already on the agenda for the next committee meeting on the 7th Dec

Good stuff :thumbright:

Nice to see even you Southerners can have a good idea now & again - ask me nicely and I'll empty the coal out of my bath and you can have it to store the tools in :rasp: :rasp:
