Replacement Euro3 engine fitted now ECU Fuel pressure problem

Post by Ogdenl1 » Mon Jul 26, 2021 3:39 pm

Hi Guys I am from the uk but based in Europe at the moment I am having a nightmare with my LR3 I got 2 months ago
when I got it the engine management light was on and it was going in to limp mode at 3500rpm .
After the garage trying lots of different things to fix it they have discovered the car has had an engine replacement
The problem is it should have a Euro 4 engine that has 17.50bar pressure at the fuel pump only they have replaced it with a Euro 3 engine that only requires 16.50 bar pressure the ECU is thinking something is wrong looking for 100bar pressure and dropping in to limp mode dose anyone know if the ECU can be remapped to alter the pressure

Thanks
Lenny

I'm not sure how much that is relevant - the block is essentially the same for EU3 and EU4 engines - but if they mixed the ancillaries - so different parts from EU3 and EU4 that could cause issues possibly. But sounds like they are clutching at straws TBH.

Hi thanks for that from what we know the engine was complete with injectors pump and fuel rail it runs fine but at 3500rpm
Drops in to limp mode we put the computer on another LR3 with Euro 4 engine the pressure at 3500rpm is 100br
higher
