From what I can see and read it looks great. Hopefully it might encourageore people to take a interest in the club.

Clare says that she'd like to carry club flyers around with her so we can leave them under windscreen wipers. Can someone email her the artwork and we can print and guillotine some :-)

Simon there have been thoughts about that in the past. The risk is that you put the flyer under some complete *$&#!@&$** wiper and attract him to the club and he causes problems. Or you get prosecuted for littering when 9 out of 10 people just rip it off and let it go in the wind.
I think I'd prefer it if there was a conversation before the flyer was handed over...call it a pre inspection  anyone else care to chime in?

The flyer is on here somewhere Simon, I always carry a few around but as Dom says best to hand out after a chat.. :thumbright:

A good balanced write up by Russ IMHO, thank goodness the Surrey gayer stayed away, could have gone horribly wrong... :rasp:

ReggieB, I assume you refer to Mr Dudman? Personally I think it was a great shame that he wasn't there, as Russ would have been able to write about how open we are as a club and how we have a positive attitude to care in the community.

I understand the littering thing but the club has an open website where anyone that Googles correctly can find the club and join. On top of that, a lot of members have stickers on their vehicles promoting the club so the argument about attracting an idiot doesn't really hold water imho (although it's always a risk).

Honestly, I think that if the club wants to protect the ethos (and I think it should because it's the bit that makes the club so great) then something should be written into the constitution to say that the committee can eject a member and refund their membership fee if they are deemed to be behaving in a manner not consistent with club values.

Then it doesn't matter who joined. It would also be as plus point that the club holds its standards so high. Obviously there would be a proper process and I'm sure that the clause wouldn't be invoked without serious consideration.

Just my thoughts!

Simon

Sounds like you've not read the constitution! We already have the ability to eject members.

So you Northerners better watch out :D

By Stu's definition of 'Northeners', the committee has more Northern members than Southern
