SWMBO just bought a couple of boxes of the CN Intenso (strength 9) ones and just had a cup.

I usually use the stronger end of "proper" Nespresso capsule spectrums so though the stronger Carte Noir ones would be a about right. After one cup, will stick to the "proper" ones. The CN ones don't have the strength & depth of favour of the Nespresso ones I use. I'd describe as ok(ish) but not worth getting again. One down, 19 to go but might double them up (two capsules in short blasts instead of one capsule with one long blast).

If only I could think of something useful to type here!! :(

I bought 8 boxes of CN strength 10 when I was en France recently. I like very strong double espressos (almost a Lungo shot on the Nespresso machine) and found the CN capsule somewhat weak compared to the Nespesso equivalent (which I still find a bit too weak for my taste).

However, the saving grace is that the CNs were on special offer with an immediate reduction of €1 .50 a box so I can afford to use 2 capsules per cup!! :thumbright:

They had them on offer in my local SuperU supermarket in Saint James, Manche (Lower Normandy) last month.

First time I've seen these capsules there.

A very nice bit of kit Ken (if you have £1200 odd to spend on an espresso machine!).

My 'Espressivo' machine actually makes a decent double very much to my taste using the superb LIDL own brand Bellarom Caffe Espresso (probably made by Jacobs) which is half the UK price at €1.26 for 250g en France.

Our Nespresso machine is SWMBOs. She likes the simplicity of it and only uses it to produce shots for milky coffee varieties.

Bit like what I do, "long" shot with a stronger variety in a mug with ~1/2" of milk (ff of course). Strong & milky.

I've been looking at getting a proper coffee machine for home but what's wrong with the single boiler version?
