I frequent a woodworking forum and the thoughts on there are that Parkside tools are pretty reasonable and worth the money.

Are these the same as Aldi tools? But painted green. I've not been too pleased with the one I've had.

I'm pretty sure they are the same thing.

Yeah, I tend to agree. I bought an Aldi air impact gun for wheel nuts and to be frank, it doesn't have anywhere near enough grunt for wheel nuts. Cheap tools are cheap for a reason from my own experience. Also, sockets with black paint rather than chemical hardening are suspect to me. Impact rated tools are not cheap to produce and I have seen a non impact rated socket explode before now which is an image that tends to stay in the mind. It was like shrapnel from a WW2 shell and could easily have blinded someone. Bloody dangerous.

I'm still using (and abusing...) Snap-On spanners, sockets, screwdrivers I've had since I was 21 - that's a lonnnngggg time ago - when I had hair.

They were a series of presents to work on my motorbikes with and are still going strong.

Tried an Aldi impact gun - after a couple of uses it was parked in the bin.... :D

I think that you have to keep in mind that you really do get what you pay for, well, almost always.

I bought Aldi spanners 'cos I knew they'd be soft and i'd be able to easily grind/file them thinner so they'd fit on the calliper pins. I bought Lidl air tools for the hoses, connectors and non-critical bits ( needle blower, tyre inflator, gauges, oiler, sand blaster) but spent bigger on the actual power tools, so Sealy gun and wrench.
If I want a spanner to behave I use my Halfrauds Pro set, if it's just being used as a drift I use the Aldi ones. I do believe they all have their place...
