There's no "i" in team but there are 5 in individual brilliance...

Ahh...you mean where I have my LF 170s fitted?Neild wrote:Its in front of the bulkhead behind the grille. So you take the grill off and its there infront of anything else.
That's why I'd love to see a photo so that I can see exactly what clearance there is once the cooler is fitted

That'll be the place Paul Brackets are almost flush, only 3mm thick-ish.. then the rad which must be at least 1" maybe 1.5".

Re: Auto box coolers
I`m finishing the instructions and will put them up for download to those who have purchased. These are NOT for re-distribution or publishing anywhere.
The coolers are designed so as not to impede airflow to other components. Unless you have anything else fitted BEHIND the grille then it will fit.

Re: Auto box coolers
Without looking again at mine, it may be possible to fit behind the cross braces - but I don't know if that would imped the airflow to the radiators. It would certainly need a different mounting bracket - or at least modified.

Re: Auto box coolers
Thanks for the fitting instructions Gordon They look excellent and easy to follow. I was amazed to see the size of the cooler (in my head I imagined it 1/3 of that size) and I can see that it'll be utterly excellent I'm sure I've seen smaller turbo intercoolers in some cars
Does the cooler need an airline to blow it out before fitting or has that been done prior to dispatch?
Can I suggest just one tiny amendment to the instructions please to help out those who haven't had enough coffee? When you say to remove the intake pipe from the MAF across the top of the radiator, it is always a good idea to put a bag over the exposed end of the pipe that removing this leaves behind. Anything going down that hole could at worst reach your engine and at best clog some intercooler efficiency from the inside...
Yeah, I know it's common sense but stuff happens so it might be worth mentioning?
Can't wait for it to arrive so it can sit in a box next to my snorkle waiting for the day job to let up enough for me to fit them
My car projects seem to be going the way of Stu's PC fit; boxes under the stairs

Re: Auto box coolers
...and sure enough a scant five minutes from posting that the kit arrived. It's nicely put together Gordon, thanks for the opportunity

Re: Auto box coolers
Gordon blew out mine before fitting and did the same with the ones that I brought back - don't see why he wouldn't do the rest
