I must admit that the Hi-lift is great....one of the easiest ways to quickly and effectively lift a 4x4, and also one of the easiest ways to put anyone within 10m of the jacking point into hospital for a long time....
Seriously.....it's like the good old days when the TV program Casualty used to have proper blood and gore.....I used to love watching it - seeing someone jacking up a 4x4 with a hi-lift brings back the same memories as not many people (I'm definitely included in this group) know how to use them properly and more importantly safely.
The D3 is a big no-no for a hi-lift unless you have the ARB bumper and/or relevant jacking points. At least if you have them, then your chances of going home in a nee-naw are slightly reduced.
I'd love to see a video
OK, I'm exaggerating a bit, but I think nowhere in the 4x4 world (winching included) is safety such a concern and any demos, training and help is well worth it.
