And I thought my numbers were bad!!

6 new(ish) injectors later and all well. Plus big time cold starting problems are cured. :thumbright:

Del, did it improve the economy as a byproduct? Not that mine are as bad as that.

They are pretty bad - though in theory it could just be the high one! But only if your luck changes John

Not seen much if any improvement in economy, just easier starting and no more restricted performance faults. :thumbright:

A thought - do people think it is worth getting a reconditioned injector (£120) and see if that rebalances the others before going for a full set of new ones?

Or false economy ?

I didn't think refurbished ones were available?

In theory they should be as good as new ones though, assuming they are properly refurbished.

But on the theory that if replacing one doesn't fix it you would fit 6 new ones, why not fit 1 new one and if it works fab, and if not you only then have to fit 5 more new ones. Not forgetting that there is a seal kit for the injector that would need to be replaced as well.

And there is a risk that the pipework would need to be replaced as it often brakes or the clips break and they aren't available separately AFAIK.

Mine were new OEM injectors from an engine that went terminally bang 4k miles after the injectors were fitted. £650 fitted (the price of 2 new LR injectors before fitting) and car is back to being a happy bunny. :thumbright:

Interesting that JF's car needs new injector(s). When looking into this I heard a lot of comments that cheap supermarket fuel is to blame. This debunks that a bit as I doubt the previous owner bought anything but the best of the best for his car.

What were these numbers measured on? 3 with exactly the same number is a bit fishy. Never seen any with exactly the same number, apart from 999 when injector balance value being looked at when not at idle. I wonder if is a lower range issue that the reader is expecting to see.
