Heating...........

Post by anglefire » Thu Dec 20, 2018 9:11 pm

Our boiler has been playing up for ages- but nothing that really flagged it as major, until it went cold the last week or two.

Decided to call in Vailent which is the make of boiler we have as they do a couple of repair options - both about £300 - one is a one off fixed repair (Assuming it can be) and the other an insurance policy which is DD over 6months where they come out and fix it and keep fixing it for 6months upto about £1500 in total. And if they can't fix it you pay nothing - and if the fix it on the DD option and fix it again within the 6months and then decide its knackered you get all the money back. Nothing to lose really.

So the engineer came out yesterday - and condemned the boiler - stickered it all up and isolated it :censored:

So I called my regular plumber - and he came out today and fitted a new boiler - so we are all back to being nice and warm again :thumbright:

And didn't charge the earth.
