I went on a short road trip to the USA - specifically Nevada, Utah, Arizona and California - recently.
Weather could have been kinder in Utah and Arizona as we had cloud a bit of rain and it wasn’t warm!
Our first stop was Rachel. Think of the film Paul.
in Nevada was dark and pretty clear.
So it meant we could see the Milky Way with the naked eye which is pretty rare in a lot of the uk - especially around Birmingham.
And managed to get one shot that I was happy with. Which was a bonus. Actually taken near a small airport. Hence the light on the ground I think - from the rotating light.
We then went to the arches National Park in Utah but it was a bit cloudy - and arrived later than planned due to a puncture. And it was cloudy so the planned night shoot was abandoned.
We then went on to Arizona and monument valley. Again was cloudy.
Next was the Grand Canyon.
Have a guess what the weather was like.
Then on to the Barringer crater.
It rained as we went to the rim.....
Jerome was an interesting breakfast halt.
Route 66 was actually sunny.
And of course, we had to go to see London Bridge.
Then is was back towards Las Vegas via a night in Laughlin
And finally back to Las Vegas for breakfast and a very quick look around before my flight back.
USA road trip.

Re: USA road trip.
Looks fun, even though the weather was rubbish. Did similar in 1992, picked up brand new hire car and returned it 2 weeks later with over 5k on the clock.
If only I could think of something useful to type here!!

Re: USA road trip.
We only did 1678miles in 4 days (Well 4 and a bit)
The tuesday was weird - left the UK on the 9:30 ish flight, which is 10hours - landed at about 1 (US time) ish, through customs and got the car and headed out of Las Vegas and got to Panaca and the B&B - had some food I think, then went out to get some pictures of the Milky Way and got to bed at about 9pm. But not really tired - even though we had a 32hour long day effectively - though only awake for 24.
