You can buy VAGComm cables quite cheap on eBay, not sure if they come with software though

+1 for Vag Com, very versatile, not sure if it can do all that you would with MSV2 but it's close, you can download it from here -

But it first tries to establish connection with the interface which need to be a Ross Tech registered device, not so sure how you'd get on with one of the eBay ones?

Edit; Just looked at the site again and there is a "Lite" version which is supposed to work with a third party interface - that's new. :oops:

Not sure you can do much like sat Nav stuff with VAG Comm, but ISTR it is good for engine remapping etc.
