Being serious (For a bit and a change  ) I wonder how much the winch robs the IC of clean air. Must be a fair bit.

Next time we meet Ian, you'll have to drive mine - I know it has a remap as well, but I could take that off first.

You can't have much more carp in yours than mine given mine has plates front to back, sliders and the Prospeed on. Oh and the fridge in the boot.

Does the IC make much difference in "normal" driving? Mine got changed a few years ago and the car drove exactly the same, but the old IC was a solid brick of various muds from different events.

My IC makes an enormous amount of difference - it makes mid-range in particular very brisk - makes overtaking feel a lot safer as it pulls like a train.

But it does require the turbo to actually spool up, so I doubt you would notice the difference Del :rasp: :shark:

I have a turbo??

I suspect I didn't notice the difference with changing the IC as I also had three or four other issues which meant any attempt at brisk driving put the car into limp home mode. Great fun on the M6, M25, M40, loads of smaller roads and the A4 (French Autoroute, not traffic jam in W London).

I rarely, if ever check fuel consumption, no point having a D3/4 if that matters to you... But, I did check when picking up our new folly at the weekend and got 4 mpg more coming back with the van on the back than on the outbound trip! :(
It also happened with a trip to Scotland with the fully loaded box trailer on. Did a recce trip and used whatever, went and did the job with all the kit in the car and trailer and used far less fuel... Think what I'd get if I drove it around empty at 60mph!

Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!

I do keep a record, but more for fault diagnosis - consumption goes south and something is up :thumbright:

I don't pay for my fuel, so not bothered about it, I just like to keep track of it.
