however, when I first bought the RIB and trailer i got a lot of pushing and pulling. It turned out to be the trailer brakes hadnt been setup properly for the weight of the boat. Once it was all setup up it was fine. it needs to be setup up so the car brakes apply the trailer brakes apply, but dont lock up.

perhaps the carvan has been sitting for a whle with the brake appled and one of the wheels brakes are binding ?

The Alko hitch is standard fit isnt it?? :roll:

I am 99% sure the Land Rover is Alko compatible. Apart from anything the tow ball wouldn't cause this problem and I have a Alko hitch and have no problem. You do need to remove the paint from the tow ball and not have any grease on it at all, it must be totally clean and dry for the friction pads to work.

Do you have a big red handle to lock down like this

Yes Andy, Alko hitch as per the pics...

As for the tow ball, my knob is clean and dirt free :lol: ... its the LR quick release one :thumbright:

Same hitch as mine and mine works with quick release LR one.
