I might flush mount a double socket in the top (one of the ones with the two USB ports - actually I've got some of them lying about) or I was thinking of the kitchen pop up type.

Like this:

I'll just have to see how it goes and what we need. I'm conscious that I need to live with it a bit rather than buying what I think I need before finding out what I actually need.

We sometimes take the TV with us- but even then rarely watch it. Much prefer to just read a book or play a card game if its damp, or go for a walk etc. We nearly always go on CL sites when we go on our own. Much quieter though generally a lot lower tech - though most now do have electric hook up. Its a good way of winding down - I find camping in a tent doesn't do it in the same way but that is probably just me!

Very much you need to go out for a weekend to somewhere very local (30miles or so) for the first time as you will forget loads and take too much.

Still think we've entered an alternative universe, or Stu's account has been hacked.

I love camping but I'm trying to keep MrsStu happy. She is trying to get me into it by allowing me to choose the gadgets! I'm pretty sure I will always love camping though.

Agree with Mark. I would put off buying a TV until you have been once to see what you really need. It's about being away, not watching TV. (TV is :censored: at home, why any different when Vanning!). We have a 20" jobbie, but have only plugged it into the aerial a couple of times, but the Kiddies do watch a DVD on it most nights when in bed to give us some peace.
