Hampshire Spectacular?!?!?!

Got an idea for an event, want to see an event run that is currently run. Any discussions prior to an event being launched as an official event should go in here.

Hampshire Spectacular?!?!?!

Post by Kingmav66 » Sat Jan 18, 2014 10:32 pm

Is there any hint of one happening this year?
If so, I'll do what I can to help organise :thumbright: :thumbright: :thumbright:

Not given it much thought.

What do people think. Last year was the first attempt and I think I'd look to change a few things around and find a different site for the pay and play just to break it up.

I thought it was good Stu. I liked the p&p site, the only thing I would change would be the punch-challenge, but I'm happy to do that :thumbright:

I thought it was really good, as for the venue would Broxhead be an option or is this the one that needs marshaling.

They all need marshalling to comply with our MSA so for example all vehicles were scrutinised at Hampshire. Marshaling doesn't mean we have to drive around hi vi following people.

I'd appreciate more feed back from people particularly about the laning day.

Is there a p&p place somewhere near those 'Surrey' lanes Clem? :thumbright:

There is Borden which has Slab Common, Hogmoor and Broxhead - all MOD sites.

I do have some contact details for booking them, but they are MOD and it almost seems to be a case of, if you're on the approved list, then you can use it.

We've never booked any of these sites in our own right as we have always used TV4x4 to book them and do marshaling for us. I'm sure we could do the same again, but it should be cheaper and easier for us to do it ourselves.

We really enjoyed the weekend although if you could arrange for less horses that would be good ;)

It did prove to be the most expensive event we've done but that was mainly having to buy a caravan afterwards!

I read the bit about cost and started to feel defensive, thinking it wasn't particularly expensive - then I read the last bit of the sentence and it made sense!

Although it is an expensive weekend if you have to travel a long way and if you B&B.

I know the last time I did Bala the whole weekend probably cost about £600 - £700 which is actually a expensive couple of days, but £250 of that was fuel

Pass, I'm not sure Tbh, I'll have look see,
I enjoy most laning where ever it is, the last lane we did last year on the Hampshire spectacular was a little tight for my liking but no dramas. :thumbright:
