I'm convinced that D3s occasionally throw a one off wobbly like this just because they can and to keep us all on our toes

'Endeavour' - Discovery 3 SE - sadly now gone but to a good loving home

Hello!
I want to start engine today, after a week, but it does not start.
Gear lever is block in P position, I can not move it. I become a few fault:
-TRANSMITION FAULT LILITED GREARS AVAILABLE
-HDC FAULT SYSTEM NOT AVAULABLE
-PARK BRAKE OFF LIFT SWITCH TO APPLY
-PARK BRAKE FAULT
-on counter light E

Before a week, I was drive car normally, without fault and park it. After a week happened.

First I was check battery-it was OK.

Next step?????????

Thank you!

It does very much sound like battery.

How have you checked it? Might be worth putting it on charge regardless and see if that changes anything.
if it does, then you either do have a duff battery or there is something draining it. Have you a tracker or anything else that is connected permanently?

Yes, low battery is my first thought too.
Please let us know how you get on after you've charged the battery?

Problem is probably Radio Noise Suppression Capacitor. The fuse No 30 is burned. I was change it and all function work normally.
But , will this resolve the problem?
Probably I must change this modul???? Or it will work in future without problem?

Discovery 3 Park Brake Fault
Postby garbo500 » Sat Sep 03, 2016 5:33 pm

Hi guys. I have a 2007 Discovery 3 which has developed a fault. A big "F" appears on the display followed by "Park Brake Fault".
It then goes into limp mode and lowers the suspension/limited gears etc. After stopping and restarting the engine the fault clears.
It started faulting about every 3 months but it gradually occurs more frequently now especially on journeys over 20 miles. It usually faults 3 times in quick succession then nothing for another week.
I have changed the battery/alternator/park brake pedal switch recently but to no avail.
My local Land Rover specialist garage has plugged in a diagnostic computer which shows a low fuel pressure/rail fault if that makes sense and recommends a new high pressure fuel pump. Could this be associated to the above symptoms???? They have changed the fuel filter and examined the old one but nothing is amiss
The car has only done 84,000 miles.
Or is the parking brake actuator assembly/wires more likely.
Any help of suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

zlatko83 & garb0500;
did you sort this problem?
My D3 ('07) did a similar thing recently. I had it checked and nothing relevant showed. Month later it happened again. It's been happening now for about 3 months - during which time any scan fails to reveal anything as a fault !!
I've read pages and pages of forums to find some sort of answer.
Any update would be appreciated.
Cheers.
