Discovery 3 panoramic sunroof question

Hi all, been reading this great forum for a while and finnally looks like i have to join you.
Long story short- im about to pull the trigger on purchasing LR D3 (finally). Its 2006 ,HSE with 325 000 km on the clock. Is really nice outside, all black with minor scratches ,little dent(easy fixable) .Inside it has almost all bells and whislles exept Dvd screens in headrests and above. It comes with good conditionl eather black seats etc. All and all interior needs cleaning but thats doible.
Now dawn to the issue- it has cracked/damaged panoramic glass. It got hit with an ice balls from the sky. As i looked for replacement -theres nowhere near me anything like that. Even sending from elswhere it would be costly as hell, basicly 1/6 of the cars price, so thats not the option...My take on this would be -buying 4-6 mm thick (what ever is needed) PMMA sheet ,cutting to chape, flex it with heat if needed and glueing in place. Now it sounds simple to me and im capable of doing this myself, but as i never aproach LR3 that close,so i dont know if i bump in to issues of any sort... Is there a frame i need to take it out with an old glass? If so,can i reatach PMMA sheet to it,or i will need new frame? Or it will be simple matter just to glue in and forget about it...
Id like to find out all of this before i purchase the car, so if it is any info regarding all this-i would really appreciate.
