EPB service mode question

Post by rallebraun » Sun Oct 29, 2017 5:44 pm

Hi,
I wanted to know if every Disco3 could be set via a manual combination of actions into service mode.
Or does this depend on model and production year. I have an TDV6 from 11.2007 and somebody told me
that this combinations only work for some models.

Second question is if it is possible to hear the short moment when the epb motor works to set the
epb in service mode. (It should release the cable a little bit more than just the standard release mode-
or am I wrong??)

The combination in Bodsys brake bible to set the epb in service mode differs from the combination in
the workshop manual while the combination for the bedding mode is equal. Do they both work, or is
this model dependent.

Workshop manual combination for epb service mode:
Enter the parking brake into the service mode.
Turn the ignition key to position II.
Apply, and hold, the footbrake.
Apply, and hold, the parking brake switch to the RELEASE position.
Turn the ignition key to position '0' and remove the key.
Release the footbrake.
Release the parking brake switch.

Bodsys combination for epb service mode:
In the car with ignition in Position II, press the brake pedal three times and hold the pedal down.
Push down on the EPB switch for 3-5 seconds.

Also I don't know if the EPB switch shoul be realeased before I switch the car of or should
beeing hold down while switching the car of.

Sorry for my bad english (I am german)

Thanks
ralle
