Messages after service?

Post by Thumpermike » Tue Jun 06, 2017 7:09 pm

Hi all,
Just had the car serviced today and having got it back I've got the following messages
appearing.
'Bonnet open' the bonnet is closed and secure
'Service miles' with -50 above the mile word - never seen this before

Any ideas? Your help would be appreciated.

Bonnet has a switch on the off side catch, which is either faulty, or your bonnet is not closed properly. The switch is easy to replace or it can be bridged out.

The service indicator hasn't been reset. Where did you go for the service?

Hi,

I've sorted the switch, adjusted the metal contact and all is good.
I took it to a local garage, they've done work for me before. The service indicator has never come up before, I got it service before it was near being due, so i was surprised to see it come on. The -50 hasn't changed since i picked it up. I'll give them a call this morning.

Cheers

You need a OBDII tool to reset the service indicator, I'd expect a good Land Rover Indy to have that, less likely from a smaller non specialist indy.

Needs a proper reset. I drove past you Monday, I could have stopped off and done it on the way. :thumbright:

I'm over towards Bridgnorth/Ironbridge if you get stuck and fancy a drive out.
