From memory you have to press the brake peddle after holding the epb switch. A double more almost.

Re: How to leave EPB off?
I don't know for sure but if what Mark says is the way then have you checked for the old "rear brake light broken filaments" issue?
This could be making the car think the brakes were pressed first.
Quickest way to check is to turn head light switch to off, key position 2 (engine off) and then see if your front side lights come on when you press the brake pedal...

Re: How to leave EPB off?
Been thinking about this. All from memory as I Mo longer have a disco.
Step 1. Hold car on the foot brake or leave in gear.
Step 2. Pull up lever to release hand brake.
Step 3. Release lever.
Step 4. Pull up lever again and hold it.
Step 5. Pull key out of the ignition.
Hopefully on releasing the lever it remains off.

Re: How to leave EPB off?
Do you mean "Down" Mark for off, or is the Up the reason why I cannot get mine to stay off either?

Re: How to leave EPB off?
LOL yep, well up is on and down is off, but when I have mine set to auto-engage in the CCF I cannot force the darned thing off either!
I thought it was as simple as holding the switch down whilst you took the keys out, but as soon as the key comes out mine still engages/screams. Well, at least it did scream until I threw Bods' bible at it ... and I also turned it off in the CCF so for me the problem has gone away. That doesn't help you though Cosmo!

Re: How to leave EPB off?
You can definitely do it Dom because I had mine to auto engage but had to have it off for some reason or another- but no it wasn’t that simple. And am pretty sure the logic I’ve now described is right or very close.
