D3 roof gear

Post by hangman3 » Mon Aug 28, 2017 10:36 am

Whats the best full size expedition roof rack & access ladder for the D3 on a budget then? The best price I have seen is on EBay & its the Goliath. This is quite a practical rack for just short of 400 notes but does not look best on the D3.

Best is the Prospeed
Budget is the one you'll I've been looking at or a second hand LR expo rack, but similar money.

Expo rack is made of cheese but looks good - noisy though.

Prospeed are good but eye watering expensive - even second hand they hold their value.

For me, I needed to be able to change my rig from an overlander to a "car" in a matter of an hour so opted for the Thule Canyon 859 (with extension).

It is big and solid (you can stand in it), fits on the standard bars and most importantly for me, is a one man job to put on/take off.
