Thinking of updating D4
Thinking of updating the D4 to a slightly newer one... Only a thought at the moment as I'm pretty attached to it.
Wondering about thoughts on value? Seems to vary greatly between £11k-14k but that's for non modded ones.
Basic facts are:- Silver HSE. Full black leather, 2010. 105k miles but with new engine & turbo's at 44k, so engine only 60k ish. Rear locking diff, Front Winch (New motor 18 months ago). Steering/sump guard. Might leave pro speed rack on, but tempted to keep as I have modified it a lot.. Choice of wheels & tyres from 20" stormers with Cooper LTZ, 19" Duratrac, or the normal ones. Removable tow bar, Home fitted headrest screens (Rosen).
Work done in past 2 years, 4 wheel bearings, 2 air suspension bags, compressor, rear discs, aircon regas, Front suspension bushes (Not sure which ones as ext. warranty).
New radio/nav head unit. Complete new park brake gubbins.
Gearbox still very smooth, but hoping Bodsy can give it a flush on his next passing. Just had main dealer service.
Bad bits... Bramble rash, not tried to polish out yet. Not through paint. Couple of small dents from random tow hitches, needs new passenger door mirror body (Unless you like the rough & tough gaffer look..). Several switches mounted up front in plastic trim. Boot area lining pretty scruffy as used to lug kit around. (Comms kit, flight cases etc, not fish & dead sheep).
Was hoping to sell it with 4 months extended warranty left, but time has run on and there's only 6 weeks left now.
Trade in would be ideal, but can't see them wanting it in PX with all the bits, and it's far to much faff to take it all off!
What you recon?

Re: Thinking of updating D4
I reckon its a good time to change to a later model D4. Some ex Land Rover cars 12 months old sitting on dealers forecourts just looking for a buyer.#
Could not live with the Sport any longer no where to store anything and too small for the dog in the boot. Changing to to a 2016 D4 with 11000 miles on clock been sat for almost 5 months on dealers forecourt so made them an offer. got it for 3500 less than they paid Land Rover for it. Deal

Trevor did you get fed up of the rozzers feeling your collar in the white RRS and red leather drug dealer pack?

Stu don't know what you mean.
Seriously just didn't come up to the standard of the D4 but if had sufficient funds would have kept the Sport was a fun vehicle to throw around the roads and very quick. The adaptive cruise absolutely brilliant when got used to it.
But just not enough storage.

Re: Thinking of updating D4
Just spent several weeks driving a D5 in Norway. A really great drive, pretty nippy and very comfortable, good on the rough bits. But... Still not a D4 when it came to lugging kit around and I just can't like the back end and lack of split tailgate, which was fortunate as I can't afford one! A good chassis for the new Defender!
