Door Locks

Post by timdig » Thu Aug 03, 2017 2:58 am

I own a 2006 LR3 HSE here in the US. My front doors do not seem to lock. If I use the Remote it arms the alarm which will sound if I open either front door. But it will not physically lock the front doors. IS there a fix for this? Also recently my Drivers rear door will no longer unlock via FOB or the central dash button. I have to manually unlock the door from inside.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you.

Tim

Can you still lock the front doors from the fob? if yes, it sounds like the door solenoids have failed - though odd for 3 to go at once - the other thing I guess could be a splice in the loom that has failed - favourite places are the sill by the front door.

As Anglefire says....I'd be looking at the wiring before paying out for 3 solenoids! :thumbright:

If you can get the motors out, then it's really cheap to get a new motor and replace the one on it. RadioShack or whoever is the electronics place out there will have replacement motors for a few $$

Check that the voltage goes to the doors to try to lock them, if it does, then likely th motors. If not, then likely wiring. :thumbright:
