Anyone seen this

Sounds a bit odd but who knows. I thought it was a good tactic.

Yes - bloke is an idiot if you can believe the comments from Land Rover - and the fact that he is moaning that you have to drive fast enough, long enough for dpf regeneration - which he says you can't do in London - well, frankly if you have that sort of car and never drive anywhere but London you must be mad.

Well I sort of sympathise! Really if you want to buy a RRS just for doing the school run then it should be up to the job. The DPF is just not designed or fit for purpose for a lot of people. It's no issue to me with a 25 mile commute down the motorway but for someone who only has 5 miles of urban slog it's not sensible. I don't think it's just london where this applies a lot of cities are the same. It's also not just Land Rover that this applies to but the whole DPF situation.

It does seem a bit idiotic if you have to give the car a good blast to get the dpf to regenerate - counter intuitive from an environment purspective.

Whist I appreciate owning cars is a life style choice if you never do anything other than a 5 mile commute then you have to look really hard at electric. A big engine Deisel or petrol is not the right vehicle - especially with big towns clamping down on diesel cars. If the short commute was occasionally but most journeys are long then it makes sense. But then the dpf would regenerate ok anyway.

Even swmbo does a decent run once a week - I've done twice as many miles in the bm since I've had it than she does a year
