LED Lights
Bought a LED light from Ebay the other day and it arrived today.
It's a 34" curved LED "work" light - which should fit on the front of the car quite nicely

Re: LED Lights
Nope, on the front is the idea. Just got to work out how to fit the brackets - I'll try and have a look before the weekend to see if I need to acquire something suitable from somewhere. Not sure where, but we have a big workshop at work that might be able to help

Re: LED Lights
There is a flaw to that method Dom. And not the obvious one.
There is no space at the ends to wrap the tape so will reduce the light output as some of the 60 LED's will be blanked - though the light might come out of a different lens

Re: LED Lights
Just thinking about the easiest way to wire them up.
Obviously, there is the Stu way, which is to use some cat 5 cable wired directly to the battery and have two ends draped around the light stalk and just twist them together to make them come on
But I'd rather be a little more finessed than that
So, my thought is to fit a 3 position switch in the top console by the interior lights to provide a master off, override on and auto on. Override on to just turn the lights on regardless and auto on to come on/off with main beam.
Electrically it's simple enough - pick a feed off a suitable source, through a fuse - probably 20A (180W @ 12V is around 15A) and to the light via a relay.
The switched feed for the relay coming from the three position switch with one of the poles being switched from another relay that is switched from the main beam.
The second relay is possibly overkill, but it means I can keep the wiring to the switch to a minimum size and also gives an option of feeding the new lights from the aux battery and keep everything nicely isolated.
My question is where to take the feed for the main beam from to give the auto function. Looking at the wiring diagrams there is a feed from the column switch to the CJB on wire C0580-28 - but I'm not sure the voltage and if it will support a relay coil. So the other option is from the main beam FET - either G167 or G168 - from connection C0583-32 or C0583-33
Or can I take it from the feed to the driving light kit - and if so, where from?

Re: LED Lights
My G4 rack mounted driving lamps are switched on a relay activated by the main beam feed on the back of the headlamp unit
Imagine a world with no hypothetical situations..........
