Certainly looks like Ian and Steve have got a few ideas to start working on! It's good to see that a simple announcement has created so much positive comment! :thumbright:

Hi guys, didnt log on yesterday, as Phil said...seems to have created a fair bit of debate which is great :thumbright:

Some initial thoughts i have are around the following:
1) User reviews on items they have recently purchased for the D3 with "Action" shots
2) Travellers tales: A quarterly contribution from a different member detailing a expedition trip, holiday, etc where they have been away in their Landy.
This would involve relevant sections on vehicle preps, details of equipment used, what worked and what they would change next time etc
3) Sponsors offers/Updates
4)A news section detailing any general 4x4 updates, new vehicles, legislation etc.

Just my starter for 10, Fttp/Blog site probably works the best :thumbright:

My two main suggestions (in addition to the above ideas from Steve):

Include an events calendar.

Needs to be push rather than pull - I know there are a couple of members that would prefer to pull the info (eg via app), but if one of the principles of having a newsletter is to get info out to people that don't normally frequent the site/forum then I don't see those same people taking time to pull down a newsletter.

:thumbright:

(My third suggestion would be that we ll add Duncan's e-mail address to our contacts list...just to be sure he gets the newsletter on a regular basis :rasp: )

Like the ideas Steve.

I'd be happy to do some Stove Reviews and tests. Or anything camping related to be honest.

I do think we should have a PDF that can be emailed out to everyone. As John says to push rather than pull.

So to resurrect a great idea, how's this flourishing chaps. It's it still a goer, or on the back burner.

Well Jase, i'd suggest it's not flourishing! Good point though, is this something people would still like?

I feel that this is sort of what the forum gets used for anyway, but having something to send out to members would be nice.

My idea on the newsletter would an Autum edition to all members via email possibly. The reason why I suggest Autum is to include 90% of the Clubs activities/events for that year in great pictorial form.

Just an idea, shoot me down if ya like.
