Leatherman Tread

Post by PillowSmuggler » Tue Jan 27, 2015 9:48 pm

Not available yet but I confess I like it...though I'd probably strap a watch face to it 'cos I couldn't wear it as a bracelet

I was debating that Mark, and the fact is that it has no blade or cutting tool means it shouldn't be considered offensive, but then the folks at the security checkpoints must like to flex their authority and will deny it for fun (assumption is based on the number of mini nail clippers you see in the disposal bin - I don't know about anyone else, but I've done me more damage with a zip than I ever could inflict with baby toenail clippers).

I was stopped taking a 6m length of 6mm earth through Birmingham airport because I could tie someone up with it

But the 10m Ethernet cable was fine :surprise:

Before 9/11 and the rules changing I always used to carry my Swiss army knife on planes. The only time I've ever had a problem was when I was carrying a water pistol. Now you may think that it's understandable as it could look like a real gun, in fact it was a keyring water pistol and was luminous green yellow and orange. The sort of thing you get in a cracker. So I had that confiscated but my knife was fine. (It was in the US)

This is bright pink but it'll still kill. In the US you can have your weaponry coated any colour you like. So a luminous water pistol is just as likely to get you shot by cops as a black AR-15. Big mistake is thinking pink means it's not real....

Guns, luminous or not, anywhere with armed cops ain't a good idea...... :surprise:
