I like the look of the radius ones and that i don't have to worry about the children getting their legs stuck but think the function of protecting the doors was better served by the mk 1 version ...

I actually prefer the rounded end of the mkII bars, but I personally don't think they stick out far enough (when compared to the Mk1 versions)
In terms of aesthetics, the rounded front would appear more to the mass markets than the angled and welded ones and that's the Market you need, not most of the members on here (with respect )

Am thinking zinc primer and some kind of epoxy paint might be a better solution.
Been reading all night and powder coating seems to be very hit and miss despite being used extensively in the industry.
I know it's all down to prep however it's hard to control quality as all the coaters tried have professed to be "the best" when actually they're not. It all looks fine and dandy when done but a year later a pin prick size hole can cause issues. Ultimately it seems a bit

Why not get them hot zinc sprayed then powder coated ?

Any powder coated steel items I buy for my Defenders from new get blasted, zinc sprayed then powder coated and they last for years without any rust problems. Most manufacturers do not get their items blasted before powder coating to save on costs, and was told by my local powder coaters this is the reason they rust quickly.
