Erm the person who said that is of no affiliation to said product or company . I will however suggest that you do get your brithday specials by seeking the individual concerned and getting him to put HIS hand in HIS pocket

Re: March 28th 2011 : THE Product
Sadly this thread obliquely reminds me of a great and spirited conversation I had whilst visiting the States, with the husband of my IT director in my last company.
He started questioning me about some of the advertising I'd seen since I'd arrived. I proceeded to tell him that whereas most was simply banal and could be ignored, there were three products or so that I wouldn't purchase if the future of the human race depended on it. Intrigued he asked which ones and why.
High profile repetitive and lengthy advertising can only indicate a product that stinks I said. Look at ProductX (I forget what it was) which is advertised in the first and last slots of each adver break between programmes as well as once or twice in the middle of the block. If it's so bad that you have to over-shout any actual word of mouth recommendations then it's worth avoiding at all costs. Ever gone to see a film that constantly advertises all the best bits for 6 weeks before release I asked? Ever been anything other than disappointed in it? He was gob-smacked, and we spent another hour or so discussing advertising. Turns out he was an advertising exec and a partner in a big agency and ProductX was his big baby
So. with 20 pages almost in the bank in the hype up for this, I'm not even sure I need to see it now
