Re: Safari Snorkel
There are many "Safari" snorkel types available some for around £90. Pillow smuggler bought one of these and thought it was good value. Personally I went for the Land Rover RAI as I prefer the look of it. They are around £300.

Re: Safari Snorkel
price sounds about right for a genuine Safari snorkel (but on a D3 anything is really a raised air intake rather than a full snorkel But the Safari one is a bit better sealed than the LR OEM)

Re: Safari Snorkel
It's not an easy job to fit as a Safari Snorkel is watertight, and a lot of the intake needs modifying with the kit. If you're planning on wading a lot then it's worth having. You saw my Raised Air Intake (RAI) on my D3. It's a genuine LR part made by LR, they don't stop water like a Safari, but are definately splash proof and can save you.
The RAI really is designed to take cleaner/colder/dust free air, rather than stop water, and are made by Mantec for LR, not sure of the price nowadays, but a call to the club friend Nick Lee @ Yeovil Landrover and he'll sort you with cracking prices and delivery. He's the parts manager we All use.

Re: Safari Snorkel
I've got a Safari Snorkel 'look alike' - it's water tight for the wading I've done and a fair bit cheaper than genuine at the £70 I paid.
But be warned - they're not a 10 minute fit in the pub car park......

Re: Safari Snorkel
Agree with Ken, the clones are excellent value for money but fitting is a b d (though only slightly more so than the safari - don't trust the drilling templates!).
I tested mine for waterproof the unconventional way - after all, if it can't get out it can't get in
