I have the safari snorkel on my D3.
I went for Safari as I had one on the D2 previously & it is quality piece of kit.

The grill on the scoop is prone to tree damage but you can get s SS one for about £10.
It sticks out more that the RAI & I have cought it on trees before now, but that is a matter of getting used to it.

I turn the scoop to face backward when expecting lots of water as in standard mode it can collect the spary from the wheels.

What ever you do , go genuine and not cheap copy, IMHO.

Why ?

I have a "chines copy" ,for three years, and there is no reason, in my humble opinion, to pay three times more than a piece of plastic!
The installation must be done correctly (and it is not easy) with increased attention to the tightness, I made my mount with a sealant joint "special".
Contrary to what tells the site SAFARI the matter has no default to this day!
None of the trees I crusaders did not beat .....

I also have the genuine Safari snorkel but followed PillowSmuggler and recently changed the scoop head for one that is a cyclonic pre filter - the roar from this when you put your foot down is awesome!

I fitted a new air filter at the same time as the cyclonic pre filter head was fitted and I'm convinnced that my average mpg has improved

I also have a cyclonic pre filter .
Extremely efficient and, as PhilI like the roar of acceleration! :thumbright:

But my average mpg has increased for me , compared to the other filter.
