Music from iPhone to Disco
I'd like to be able to link my phone to the car for music. I want to do this over Bluetooth and not via the aux. I was thinking that one of the FM transmitter types might be a good option.
I don't want it to do calls as I have my parrot for that.
Any suggestions?
Does the Bluetooth module allow for this?

I don't rate the FM things myself, better off looking for a newer parrot that streams via Bluetooth.

Me too, tried one a long time ago and the quality was rubbish.
If only I could think of something useful to type here!!

The lr Blutooth doesn't do that I'm afraid.
I've ordered a couple of BT/USB MP3 converters that I'll tap into the AUX input. Not sure of the quality yet, but will post up when I get them. Only about £18 istr.

Re: Music from iPhone to Disco
Be interested in how you get on with this Ian - I've seen a few on the InterWeb but reviews vary.
Is it something like this you've bought - iClever Himbox HB01 Bluetooth 4.0 Hands-Free Car Kit - ?

The parrot does the BT bit and takes analogue audio out into the D3 radio or direct to speakers via relay interrupt. Bit like taking the audio from the call but it's music instead. The older parrots were single speaker with mute on other channel, so it has to be a newer one.
Plus also does the hands free while pausing music if you get a call. I am not sure if I understand the adapter you bought, but I could see a potential problem with using a BT to aux adapter if doesn't have a mic input. When you get a call the audio will come out of speakers, but won't the phone use it's own mic or mute the mic depending on the BT software. As far as I know the iPhones can't connect to two Bluetooth devices at once, so if you have LR BT for phone you wouldn't be able to connect. But £18 is a LOT cheaper than a parrot.

Re: Music from iPhone to Disco
I have a mini usb stick version of BT to aux, I keep it plugged into the aux and a spare ciggie lighter usb charger socket (I have 4 Gang charger plug).
I'm not looking for super audio quality, but it's hum and hiss free, has good channel separation and does a very good job imho even at stupid volumes.
Think it was one of my "under a fiver but 5 week wait for delivery" jobs originally; very happy with it and phone pairs to it as soon as I start the ignition and off it goes.
Here you go, looked in the bay of E and there's somone selling one more locallly :

I've installed a few of the parrots now, quite like the Asteroid Mini.countrywide wrote:

Music streaming in stereo, and with added GPS if you want it. Nice thin screen and smoother remote control for it than the older ones.

Re: Music from iPhone to Disco
Phil, there's no battery in the unit; it's just plugged into the usb to get power.
Many stereos now have a USB socket for playing mp3 files; this just makes use of the 5v power instead.
