Car in for a service

Post by anglefire » Fri Oct 20, 2017 6:41 pm

Had the car in for a service today @ BMW.

Not the cheapest to be fair, and doubt it will go back unless they can do a good deal next time and extend the warranty for a sensible amount. £95 for 2 microfilters is taking the P just a little.

What I did quite like was a text/email with a link to a secure server with a video'd health check - which showed me all the tyres and brake pads being ok and also the splits around the diff mounts  Luckily covered by warranty - when I queried it

SWMBO's Jazz was in Honda Inverness for a service and similarly got a video of the bad bit of the Health Check. Split rear wiper blade. I declined their offer to change it, it'll do for a while yet. I may put Dark Bluie's old rear blade on there.

If only I could think of something useful to type here!! :(

I know at least Merc and Landrover are doing the same video health check these days aswell.

Mine for in for a service last week - the dreaded 125k / 7 year timing belt change.
I went to a different garage than my usual, Cowley & Co in Milton Keynes.

Have been really impressed with their service and feedback, and the bill was £730, so am very happy with that compared to some quotes I’d heard!

Will be putting it there for some more work in the near future I think
